Two years after this NYC band's brilliant debut album ("It Should Have Been Tomorrow", also on Jigsaw), Phil Sutton and co. are back with another handsome batch of songs! But although I felt the first album didn't really differ all that much from the work of Phil's other primary band, Pale Lights, I can definitely hear some minor differences between the two bands this time around. For example, many of the songs on this mini lp seem to be acoustic-based - or at least you could say the acoustic guitar is a little more prominent here (albeit with plenty of layers of instruments on top!). Obviously, his distinctive songwriting and voice make these differences ever so subtle - but in any case, the general concept of this being Phil's "solo project" is a bit more noticeable! So now when describing the songs, I should probably reference Pete Astor instead of the Weather Prophets, or Robert Forster instead of the Go-Betweens... there's still plenty of Lloyd Cole, though!
260 lps pressed; co-released with Kleine Untergrund Schallplatten with Jigsaw getting 100 copies. All songs written by Love, Burns. Available digitally on Bandcamp.
