while I won't disagree that Crabber's third album is stylistically quite similar to their first two, I will still insist that I wouldn't have it any other way. After all - their jangly, mod-influenced powerpop sound is pretty much exactly what I love anyways, so why mess with a winning formula? They still specifically remind me a lot of Sportique and Dot Dash (with a bit of Comet Gain, as well), but if I had to put their style into broader, more recognizable terms, I'd have to say they're like a hybrid of Teenage Fanclub and Buzzcocks. Or, to put it even more simply, this is just a dozen pop songs with an emphasis on fuzzy guitars and catchy melodies - and there's really no need to get any more complicated than that!
