So, I've been updating the shop regularly with new releases, but haven't touched the home page in months. Whoops!

So the big news is that the new AMIDA album is out now on Jigsaw! I'm really excited to be working with this band, as I've been a fan for as long as they've been releasing music - and this new album, "My Life As A Trashcan", continues their trend of excellence. Listening to them, I'm especially reminded of the Wolfhounds, but there are bits of early Wedding Present and Hefner in there, as well. Read more and listen to a couple tracks on the release page, and check out their other releases in the shop as well (rumor has it I'll be getting the very last copies of their debut EP on PLASTILINA in the mail soon so keep your eyes peeled for that rarity!).

In equally good news, I've also just released the second album from LYCKA TILL, a Swedish pop-punk band - "pop" and "punk" being two separate words. Their debut album on PLAN-IT-X really impressed me, and I wrote a glowing review of it on IndiePages. The band took note of this, and asked me to release their follow-up on cd (they did the vinyl themselves), and of course I jumped at the chance! They play frantic pop songs with Swedish lyrics (don't worry, an English lyric sheet is enclosed), ba-ba-bas and trumpets galore, that come off sounding like Defiance, Ohio meets Brilliant Corners. In distro news, we've added a new label to our catalog: SHINY HAPPY RECORDS from Indonesia. They're a new-ish cd-r label, not unlike our pals at DUFFLECOAT - in fact, they even share some releases! Favorites from the batch of discs I got include full lengths from CAVALCADE, ROBERT CHURCH & THE HOLY COMMUNITY and SWEET SWEET CONCORDE, and EPs from PALMS ON FIRE and TAMANKOTA, but honestly there wasn't a dud in the bunch. I'm temporarily sold out of a couple of the releases, but make sure to use the handy "request re-stock notice" link, and you'll be first to know when I get more in!

Speaking of DUFFLECOAT RECORDS, I've gotten a bunch of new releases from them in recently, and then promptly sold out of many of them! But never fear - restocks are on the way!

Lots of other new goodies have come through these doors since the last update, but I'll highlight a few of them in this very paragraph. New cds from CATS ON FIRE, STRAWBERRY WHIPLASH, SOULBOY COLLECTIVE and FEVERFEW, new lps from SOURPATCH and THE WEDDING PRESENT, and new 7"s/EPs from COACH STATION REUNION, SUNDAE, CASSOLETTE, TIME CAPSULES and TROUBLED SLEEP are all great. But, then again, why would I stock something I didn't like?

When I get to it (hopefully soon!), I've got over 50 new used cds/lps sitting here, waiting to be added to the shop. So if you see the NEW RELEASES page double in size, you'll know what's up...
